According to a study1 funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), children in hospitals often experience adverse patient safety events—such as medical injuries or errors—in the course of their care. Those in vulnerable populations, such as children under one-year of age, are at highest risk. By diligently reporting and using the analytical tools in PA-PSRS, you can keep track of these types of events to determine if you need to take steps to improve patient safety for this age group or others.
